Spend Father’s Day in Richmond Town Centre

10 June 2025

This Father’s Day on Sunday 15 June, why not make a day of it in Richmond Town Centre?

Residents and visitors are invited to enjoy a vibrant day out at the Richmond Cargo Bike Fair and Richmond Arts and Ideas Festival - a celebration that reflects our wider vision for a bustling, inclusive and sustainable town centre.

Come to the Cargo Bike Fair

Head over to Old Deer Park between 11am and 5pm for the Richmond Cargo Bike Fair – a celebration of sustainable travel and community spirit. Try out the cargo bike test track, relax in the picnic area or pick up some lunch from our food stall.

The day will be soundtracked by live music performances from The Basement Door. There’ll also be sport taster sessions and activities for all ages.

Join the cargo bike procession

Arrive at the Cargo Bike Fair in style by joining our cargo bike procession organised by Richmond Cycling Campaign. Meet outside York House in Twickenham at 10am on Sunday 15 June and enjoy a leisurely ride to Old Deer Park.

Let us know on Facebook if you are planning to join the procession.

Donate unwanted adult bikes to Recirculate

If you have any unused bikes at home, bring them along to the Cargo Bike Fair and donate them to the Recirculate project. Recirculate takes donated bikes, renovates them in prison workshops and passes them onto NHS key workers and others in need.

Visit our health bus for free health services and advice

Our community health bus is coming to the Richmond Cargo Bike Fair, offering free blood pressure checks, stop smoking support, and energy-saving advice. No appointment needed – just drop by!

Staffed by friendly health professionals, including a local pharmacist, our health bus is a convenient one-stop shop for improving your health and wellbeing.

Enjoy poetry at the Orange Tree Theatre

The Orange Tree Theatre in Richmond will host two exciting sessions as part of the Richmond Arts and Ideas Festival

  • From midday to 2pm, join poet Laurie Bolger, founder of The Creative Writing Breakfast Club, for a warm and inspiring workshop inviting participants to imagine a future shaped by kindness and connection via nature and our animal selves
  • From 2 to 4pm, join poets, authors and activists to imagine a future where we have renewed our relationship with nature and, perhaps, overcome the ecological crisis. This interactive event will gather around a long-table, centre-stage at OT, ending with a walk along the river

See the full programme of events on the Richmond Arts and Ideas Festival website.
